Rolls Royce – the symbol of excellence
Rolls Royce was and is still seen as the symbol of excellence in English engineering grand style and comfort. The shape, grill and bonnet are recognized the world over. The double RR logo even remains carved into the building ( now a museum ) opposite St Basils Cathedral in Moscow’s Red Square from when the Tsar had 12 of these famous cars.
A true classic of it’s time.
The Pursuit of Elegance and Excellence. “Anything worth doing is worth doing properly” Sir Henry Royce. The fact that over 50% of his cars from 1904 are still running, and that includes ours also over half the world airlines and air forces are powered by Rolls-Royce shows the philosophy works. It is a very English and British Icon. Rolls Royce is a symbol and synonym of quality, luxury, elegance and class.
To many connoisseurs, the Rolls-Royce models of the fifties and early sixties were the last cars displaying the traditional craftsmanship for which Rolls-Royce had become world famous. The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, announced in 1956 is now regarded by many as the last of the great Rolls-Royce motor cars.
Historical Fact
The most famous Rolls-Royce advertisement of all time stated “at 60 miles an hour the loudest noise in this new Rolls-Royce comes from the electric clock”. This was in 1956 and referred to the Silver Cloud, not a lot changes with time.
